Mantra Supports UK Cybersecurity Trade Mission to Nigeria

Mantra personnel with several UK delegates attending the Cybersecurity Trade Mission to Nigeria.

As the UK-Nigeria ‘Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership’ (ETIP) recently celebrated its first anniversary, there have been continued efforts to strengthen trade links between these two countries. One major milestone in these ongoing efforts was the recent UK Cybersecurity Trade Mission to Nigeria, which took place in both Abuja and Lagos.

According to the UK Government Trade Commissioner for Africa, Mr John Humphrey, “as Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, the need for robust cybersecurity solutions has never been greater with the rise of e-commerce, fintech and digital government services.”

There is no doubt that the UK, with its renowned expertise in cybersecurity, is uniquely positioned to help advance Nigeria’s cybersecurity goals, by offering world-class expertise in threat intelligence, data protection and secure digital transformation solutions.

The Cybersecurity Trade Mission brought together senior executives, security experts and innovators from the UK with their Nigerian counterparts to address sector-specific threats, explore advanced cybersecurity solutions and build strategic partnerships that strengthen business resilience.

The Trade Mission culminated in a Cybersecurity Solutions Summit entitled “Securing the Future: Strategic Alliances for Cyber Resilience”, which was organised by the UK Government Department for Business and Trade.

Mantra’s expert security teams have a proven track record of managing international business trips and supporting delegates attending trade missions in Nigeria, so we were honoured once again to provide end-to-end security assistance and logistics for the UK Cybersecurity delegation. We were selected by the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos to assist 20 delegates, who travelled to Nigeria from the UK to participate in the week-long Cybersecurity Trade Mission.

Our security support in Nigeria included:

  • Aviation Security Services:

    • Visa on Arrival assistance

    • Personalised airport meet-and-greet

    • Fast-track arrival assistance at the airport

  • Secure ground transportation:

    • Armed Police Escort Services using trained Nigerian MOPOL officers

    • Secure movements between airports, hotels and event venues in Abuja and Lagos

During the course of the Trade Mission, our expert security teams completed many secure movements, with all delegates safely transported to each location without incident.

As a leading security company in Nigeria, we at Mantra actively engage in discussing  cybersecurity solutions with prominent security industry bodies, including ASIS Chapter 206 Lagos, to develop tailored security strategies for various industries. It is clear that innovation within cybersecurity is key to staying ahead of evolving threats, and we are determined to play an active role in helping to strengthen Nigeria’s current security landscape.
