Supporting UK–Nigeria Trade and International Business
We recognise the importance of international trade and investment in strengthening economic ties between the UK and Nigeria. According to the Official UK Trade Factsheet, total trade between the UK and Nigeria was £7.3 billion in the 12 months ending Q1 2026. The Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership (ETIP), which has been in place since 2024, aims to strengthen these ties and increase bilateral trade even further.

Meeting the New British High Commissioner
Our President and CEO, Mr Aniekan Willie, was invited to a Business Breakfast in honour of the newly appointed British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Pete Vowles.
Previously the British Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Vowles has recently taken up his new position in Nigeria. Mantra was proud to attend his first meeting in Lagos, reflecting our established connections with the British diplomatic and business community.
Discussions at the meeting focused on the impact of ongoing macroeconomic reforms and the wider business environment in Nigeria.

Meeting with the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria
Earlier this summer, Mantra also attended a business meeting hosted by the British Deputy High Commissioner in Nigeria, Mr Jonny Baxter.
His address explored the UK–Nigeria relationship, highlighting the importance of continued investment and collaboration between the UK and Nigeria.
Discussions among the CEOs in attendance covered economic reforms, foreign exchange developments, the political landscape ahead of upcoming elections and the socio-economic challenges affecting businesses and communities.
While there was a sense of cautious optimism regarding Nigeria's economic prospects, participants also recognised the need for sustained reforms, policy continuity and tangible improvements for both businesses and individuals.
Security was another key topic of discussion, particularly its impact on economic activity, investor confidence and business operations. The conversations highlighted the importance of security and stability, and the need for private security companies such as Mantra in creating an environment that supports economic growth and investment.
